Traveling to the
Hudson Valley

Getting to the Hudson Valley from New York City is a straightforward and scenic journey. Whether you're flying into NYC or starting your trip from there, reaching the charming towns of Hudson and Saugerties is a delight. You can take the Amtrak train from Penn Station, which offers a relaxing ride along the Hudson River, arriving in Hudson in about two hours. You can catch Amtrak from NY Moynihan Penn Station (31st and 8th Ave) to the Hudson, NY station - usually on the Empire line. Ticket prices change depending on how early you purchase the tickets ($37-74 one way). I recommend buying them at least a week in advance for the best price, but they can be bought even minutes before departure time.

If you prefer to drive, renting a car gives you the freedom to explore the region at your own pace, with the journey taking approximately two hours via the NY State Thruway (I-87).

Hudson, NY

For those traveling by train from the city, this town is the most accessible destination. It's ideal for visitors without a car or those seeking a more luxurious stay. Hudson offers an inviting atmosphere for a leisurely stroll, allowing you to fully absorb the local charm without the need for a vehicle. As proud residents of Hudson, we highly recommend spending at least a day here to experience its unique allure! Below I have listed several hotel options in Hudson, or there are plenty of comfortable AirBnBs in the area!

Saugerties, New York

A small town on the East Side of the Hudson River. This is a great option for anyone who plans on driving and is looking for a more affordable stay. Below I have listed several hotel options in Saugerties, or there are plenty of comfortable AirBnBs in the area!

On April 26, 2025

We will be having shuttles to pick everyone up at a central location in both the towns of Saugerties and Hudson. Please be sure you are able to walk to the meeting location if you plan on taking the shuttle. There will be one pickup time, so don’t be late! At the end of the night, the shuttles will be departing every hour from 8:30-11:30 to return guests back to their respective drop off locations.

  • Where should I stay?
At this stage, we are working on setting up a hotel block in Hudson (estimated to be $399 a night). If you have access to a car and are looking to save some money on lodging, we recommend finding a place in Saugerties. If you plan on taking the train from the city to Hudson, or if you’re looking for a more luxe stay, we would recommend staying in Hudson! On the day of the wedding there will be shuttle services to and from Hudson and Saugerties throughout the evening. There will be a designated pick-up/drop-off spot in each town, so be sure you are able to walk or drive to those locations if you plan on taking the shuttles. Kingston is also very close to the wedding venue and a lovely town to stay in, however it is not easily accessible from AMTRAK or the Metro-North train, nor are we planning on providing transportation to and from the venue from this town. This may be subject to change depending on how many guests choose to stay in Kingston. * For those with mobility limitations, please consider staying at The Wick in Hudson. It is fully accessible and provides a shuttle service within the town of Hudson so that you are not limited in how much you are able to explore. We will be sure to arrange the shuttle service to pick you up from the hotel at the beginning of the day on April 26th, and at the end of the day at the designated drop off spot.
  • How do I get to the venue?
You can drive or use our scheduled shuttle services! We will be having shuttles to pick everyone up in both Saugerties and Hudson. There will be one pickup time, so don’t be late! At the end of the night, the shuttles will be departing every hour from 8:30-11:30 to return guests back to their respective drop off locations. Cabs, Ubers, and Lyfts are extremely limited in this part of the Hudson Valley and require significant wait times. If you plan to book a car, plan to schedule it at least 3 hours in advance. Pick-up/Drop-off locations are as followed: Hudson: 498 Warren Street (View Map Here) Saugerties: 91 Washington Ave, Saugerties, NY 12477 (View Map Here)
  • Is there parking at the venue?
Yes, there will be plenty of parking!
  • Is this wedding indoor or outdoor?
A little of both! The venue has a temperature and humidity controlled barn, but the festivities will be taking place both indoors and outdoors. Considering our date is in early spring, I would recommend bringing a jacket in case you get cold! Also, please consider the terrain when choosing shoes!
  • Is the venue wheelchair accessible?
There are no steps leading into the venue. Provided the weather is on our side, the ceremony will take place in the forest, approximately 500 feet behind the barn. There is a wooden walkway leading to the ceremony site to make walking as easy as possible. Venue staff are happy to provide assistance in getting to the ceremony site, just let us know beforehand!
  • What is the dress code?
Vibrant colored, festive attire. Dress however makes you feel like a rockstar; feathers, leather, or sequins are encouraged, but not required! Click this link if you need inspiration! Please note: The weather in the Hudson Valley can vary greatly in early spring. Please plan to bring an outer layer in case the temperature drops later in the evening.
  • Do I need to RSVP?
Yes, please! However, the RSVP list will not be available until you receive your formal invitation, so don't worry about it right now! This website is available early so that people traveling from afar may begin planning their trip! We understand that travel to the Hudson Valley is not the easiest, and we want to give those who plan to join us plenty of time to plan and budget. We appreciate everyone on our guest list, whether or not you are able to join us!
  • Do you have a gift registry?
Thank you for asking! We are working on it at the moment. Similar to the RSVP list, it will be available once you receive your formal invitation by mail.
